How long should surveys be?

I like taking surveys, but I can't stand it when I spend 10 to 20 minutes to find out I don't qualify or to get rewarded maybe 50 cents. How long would you spend on a survey? What is our time really worth?

that sucks when you spend more than 10 minutes to qualify. Surveys should be 1 minute then if you qualify then the survey can be longer.

I usually don't take any surveys if they say they are longer than 15 minutes unless they point value is really good. Otherwise, I don't think it's really worth my time. Lately I've just been doing the little 1200 point surveys that take about 5 minutes or less. I think those, combined with doing the quick surveys are the best way to maximize my time and points. I also think it's worth my time to respond to people's topics. It gives me points if I post a long enough response and could also potentially help them out.

A survey should be no longer than 5 minutes. My attention span is getting shorter these days.

No, it doesn't seem worth it to spend more than 1 minute to qualify for a survey. If surveys are longer than that you should have qualified for a survey by then. Time is money.

I agree it is very frustrating to get through 20 minutes of a survey to get screened out. I don't mind taking surveys that are 30 minutes as long as the compensation is fair. I would prefer most surveys in the 15 - 20 minute range but those don't seem to pay very well. I also feel its a waste of my time when I receive surveys that are 15-30 minutes for a sweepstakes entry. I do not anticipate ever winning a sweepstakes and will usually bypass those surveys. I belong to several survey sites and the rewards vary greatly for the same surveys.

I think 10 minutes or less is good for me and it really bothers me when I do a survey and after they get all the information out of me they say I'm not qualified!

Laborious is the word you might be looking for. Or maybe painful, agonizing or mind-blowing. These are some of the other synonyms you might be looking for to describe the excruciating pain that one feels when taking a survey that asks way too many questions before determining qualification, or when taking a survey that once a person qualifies for requires such an insurmountable feat of mental aerobics in order to remember every loaf of bread that was ever bought during the last four weeks (for example.) Well, I think survey-givers seem to be able to ask for whatever they can get away with. They "will" always find some unwitting eager person to complete their surveys. I myself can't even believe some of "beyond comprehension" surveys I have been willing to complete in order to get .33 cents.
