Are you proud of your old home town?

I moved, many years ago from my home town and in lots of ways I'm so glad that I did. But, I still get sentimental, when I think of it in it's hey day! The Shipbuilding Industry, that it was once so famous for, employed so many people and kept the town alive, but it's all hanging on a thread now............ How do you feel about your home town? Thanks. x

Hi there, no I'm not because it has gone downhill since I have left the place. It is no longer the hometown I remember. Reply

I'm not greatly proud of the town where I grew up - Kettering, and I don't live there any more. I do stilll support the football team though. Reply

A bit, though I moved away over 14 years ago now, I am proud that we have the likes of Robbie Williams and Slash from Guns N' Roses which hail from the city, but it has changed so much since I lived there, far too many migrants, though must admit when we go back and visit relatives everyone is always so friendly in the shops, never come across anyone miserable serving behind the counter Reply

Maybe I hit on a nerve with being proud of your town!! As no body seems to be proud of where they are or where they came from any more!! Apart from a few!! Do you feel as though you have moved on??? Reply

I'm a bit of a traveller as my dad was in the Navy. I was born in Gosport, but to be honest, as I left at such an early age, I don't really know that much about it!! Reply

I was brought up in a tiny little village where everyone knew everyone else and all of their business, it isnt too far away from where I live now. I moved to Sunderland when I was 21, and I would never ever go back to live in the villiage where I was brought up. I love all the hustle and bustle of living in a city, especially where we live, there is always something going on. Unlike where I was brought up, it was so quiet if you saw a police car it was big news. Here we see car chases quite regularly, and often the helicopter is up. Never a dull moment around here. Reply

I am feeling a bit annoyed about my town - there is nothing in it at all and nothing seems to be improving Reply
