Are you a hoarder or can you easily throw away your old bits and pieces?

I do hoard things and just keep them for the sake of it and do have the attitude of 'I could still use that'

There's some of the 'I could still use that' but for me a lot of it is 'I really like it, so I'm darned well keeping it.' And that's part of my problem. I'm a magpie when it comes to collecting things, but I don't care. It makes me good at finding coins and, on occasion, just a little flash of the wrong colour in the odd place and I've even found a tenner. But once I find something, I find it very hard to part with. I have jars of little things, odd bits that I've found, including some tiny little porcelain or ceramic animals that were in the stream that runs through the village. The colours had been stripped off of them, they must have been in the water a long time, and I think they're great. I won't get rid of them, because I like them and because they annoy my husband. i used to be a terrible hoarder like a rubbish magnet, i would collect other peoples castaway and go to thrift shops and buy stuff i wouldnt ever use. now after a bit of travel and keeping things light i am excellent at not collecting rubbish, i hoard a bit still like packaging for posting parcels and i try to freecycle stuff that i find has slipped out of use! Write your opinion here! You sound just like my father use to. He keept my old pair of shoes (because they were brand new cos they were never worn due to the reason that I got them as a present and they were already too small) for almost 40 years for "just in case" time when I would be able to wear them. NOt to mention that I've got married had a family or the growth of my feet, nothing could make him throw them. At the end of it it was me throwing them away at the young age of 43 and I received them as my 11th birthday present. Needless to mention no one vever wore them. Reply

My husband is exactly like that, he hoards everything in case it comes in handy later, even if he hasn't used it for years and forgot he had it he still wont give it up because it could be of use Reply

if i do not have the room for things they i would normally through them out, or if i have not used the said item for over a year i will throw it out. As i do not see the point of keeping things, as they do say if you have not used it in the last year the likely hood of you using it again anytime soon is slim to non, so i will throw it out of donate it to the charity shops or friends if they want it, as trying to sell it on ebay is a another hassle. but then again i am a guy so i am not one to clutter the place up if i do not have the space, as my girlfriend is pretty much the same as she does not have much space in her flat she does have a choice but to be brutal and throw things out if she does not have space to do so.
