Would you like to have your 5 minutes of fame?

A lot of people want to be on TV and sign up for everything. Would you like to go on quiz shows, relocation, Jeremy Kyle or any other TV show?
I would hate to do something like that and would be embarassed in case I made a fool of myself.
I did however, go on Local Radio a few years ago. Not my choice. I had entered a survey on line and had been asked if I would be willing to participate in an interview on arthritis. Imagine my surprise when I got a call from a PR company telling me that they had arranged an interview with our local radio station for the following morning and a taxi would pick me up at 08.30. Told them that I was not really interested but it was all arranged and not much choice in the matter.
Listening to our local radio station the following morning, it stated that a woman was coming in to talk about her arthritis and how a certain product had helped. I did go and felt very nervous. During the radio interview all was fine with a discussion with a professor who was working on this and had found that fish oil really did help. At the end of the interview, the presenter asked me what was I writing at the moment, I said 'not a lot'. Discovered later that the PR company had me down as a writer obviously to make me appear more interesting.
Fourtunately, no one I knew heard the interview and I was paid £200 for doing it with a taxi to and from the location. They did try to get local TV etc. interested but fortunately they did not take it up.

No, I don't think I'd want to be in the spotlight even it if was only for a short amount of time.

I guess i in inadvertently had my moment in spot light.Just before National Sports Museum opened heterosexual in Melbourne , I am a MCG guide and was volunteering this day and was aware through TV networks were about but tried to keep out of sight. The Boxing Day test was the next week and I was there and the person who accompanied me easy with me out the front of ground during the lunch break and said they had just scene me on big out door screen I though don't be silly.Next thing my mobile phone start ed to ring had calls from all over Australia saying they had seven me on cricket show. I thought that was the end of it but we had training for new people who were volunteering for the museum and I.didn't click when I was asked to sit down the front they start with vidieo and sure enough I was on it I heard a loud voice for back of room remarking they didn't know I was on iyt Zip replied as most in the room didn't know me he could habeas left it that way and not drawn attention to me. lol
