Have you ever gone on a hot air balloon ride?

I have wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride for years. Now we are going to Sedona, Arizona for a week in June, and have the opportunity to go on a hot air balloon. My husband is really unsure of going on one, thinking they are not safe. What do you think? Have you ever been on one? Or would you ever even go on one if you had the opportunity to?

I have never gone on a hot air balloon ride before, while my other family members have done so several times. I think it is quite safe to go on this ride, despite the recent accident in New Zealand, which killed about eleven people. In that accident, a fire likely started on board the balloon, sending it plummeting to the ground. A further proof that such occurrence is rare can be inferred by the fact that it was New Zealand's deadliest air accident in nearly fifty years. I hope your husband will be assured of the safety of hot air balloon ride. Reply

I have never been in a hot air balloon, and have no desire to, but I have a friend who went sky diving, and a hot air balloon ride is on her bucket list next. She wants me to go with her and do all these crazy things, but I am not adventuresome, and more of a home body. Reply
