Ich brauche nicht unbedingt TV - aber wenn der Fernseher kaputt ist, ist es schon komisch - es fehlt dann etwas! :-)

If you mean live TV I am not so sure but I suspect the way we watch television will change and I can already see the changes happening. I would miss the news and current affairs programs but could get by if the radio was still an option. If I still allowed the TV itself I could watch DVDs or stream stuff from my computer - archive material not 'live' broadcasts - or is that going outside the limits of your question. Currently my lifestyle is such there are days I do not turn it on, the TV that is, as I can get home late and I usually eat with music or the radio on - I find it distracting trying to eat with the TV on - and after that retreat to bed to listen to the 10 o'clock News and Analysis on Radio Four.

Once upon a time I couldn't live without the tv. I'm not sure what the answer is now because I'm not sure how to categorise the technology. On many days I only watch the 24 hour news (not for the full 24 hours!), and often see it on the internet. Given that the internet viewing still requires a licence in real time I suppose am still watching tv. My other viewing is often DVDs, but as they're often of past tv programmes I suppose I will have to agree...TV? No i can't be without it.
