It's getting slowly better. The key to economic recovery is employment. From employment comes income; from income comes demand; from demand comes supply, and the great wheels of the economy struggle into motion. The nature of the stimulation is drastic tax reduction or elimination on a temporary basis for all small and medium-sized business, stating to them, of course, that you are trying to stimulate them to hire. That would stimulate the economy. Road-construction projects will not work; it is like drinking your own blood. Lots of protein, but very little bang for the buck. Tax rebates will not work for the same reason – no bang for the buck and they don’t really stimulate. We need that, and we need something more, too. We need people to be heroes. We need them to suck it up, swallow their pride, and get off their duffs and go to work at whatever they can get.
I do not feel that this Pres. is making any changes in our economy I too live in the Mi west and all of my in laws ore in the tile buss. and they have been out of work for over a year because of the housing problems if you don't build houses people do not have work. also the Manufacturing buss. although that is picking up a little but not near enough.
I too do not see any improvement in the near future. It all depends on the job whether or not there is going to be job security. I also do not see long term prospects for new jobs. We have a factory in our town that constantly is hiring and firing. that place you can never feel like you have a secure job no matter what you do or where you work in there.
I see no improvement over what it was 5 yrs ago... as for job security? well we all try to do well... but we never know what might happen... I have been let go of 2 jobs in the last6 yrs... no fault of mine.. a cut in force... it sucks!
uy's the economy is going to get better. You have to remember that our economy was about to collapse, which means that there were problems in ever part of the economy. The savings and loans collapsed first, then banks failed, the automobile business was on the verge of collapse ( remember the bold saying as General Motors go, So goes the United States of America well it turned out to be true). Everyone was losing their jobs. Once the economy is in this bad of shape I'm afraid there is no quick fix, because there are to many things wrong. It becomes like turning a large ship around at that point. It can be done, but it can only be done slowly, Because you must slowly make a wide half circle in order to go in the other direction. We are now more than half way through completing that half circle. As to job security, you never had any, you only had the Sense of job security. California law makes this what is known as an at will state. Which means that your company can fire you at will, for any reason, or for no reason. This was not an issue in the pass because in an up economy your company needed you, in a down economy they no longer needed you so they fired you. By the way, the one per cent make money in a down economy, or an up economy. So, they sometimes cause either one of the two depending on which can make them the most money. But that's a story for another day.
I am retired but the economy seems to be getting worse instead of better. Everything is going up in price - gas, groceries, insurance, etc. What used to be a decent price has gone up and now you think its a bargain at the price they have it on sale for but was actually the price it was before it went up.
i think economy is not getting any better, and if for any reason its heading only towards downfall( South East Asia). Job is secure as long as we work for a well established company, but other than that, there is no job security.
i dont see no improvement for a long while if anything its gotten worst i have being laid off my job ive had for over 12 years with no call back date and i dont no when i will go back to work and the town i live in there are no jobs out there
The economy is dreadful. Jobs you can forget about. I haven't had a job in 5 years & don't foresee getting one any time soon. Thanks to all the idiot politicians we're all going to be eatong out of trash cans soon.
I live on the West Coast, and out here people are losing jobs left and right. For example, my husband had his hours dropped from full time to 4 hours a week, and i haven't been able to find a job in nearly 2 years.
