Would you live on a histoic piece of property if you could?

The property we just purchased with the fixer upper on it, is a historical piece of property. It is almost 9 acres and was part of the historic "Trail of Tears" and is in the history books, there use to be an old trading post on it and an old blacksmith shop and an old general store and was part of an old wagon trail. The indians was marched across this land when the whiteman made them leave this area and is called in history "The Trail of Tears" the route the cherokee indians walked. I supposedly have some indian blood in my family gene line and this makes this even more special. And the views are awesome, i will be in KY about 3 miles from the TN line, and am looking out at TN, with splendid magnificent views, there are no stores nearby, it is very rustic, nature, country, rural, secluded area. It will be different than living on this lake has been, much more secluded and tranquil. I am anxious to get moved in. We have to completely gut the bathroom in the home, and the rest i can do while living in it. Very anxious and excited and happy, i feel we have been blessed, this is our dream location.

Sounds like you have found the perfect place for you. We used to live in the country and it was very nice at times, but I would not want to live there now that I am alone. Enjoy your new home.

Wow, that sounds really nice!!! I hope you like it there. I would love to have a place in the country with no one around. Just give me a gun and cable. I am right below you in TN, nice scenery but awful people where I am at. I have a clock with the Trail of Tears picture on it. I got it from an Indian when I hitchhiked to California years ago. It is made with colored sand. Enjoy your wonderful new place!!!

I am not sure but I enjoyed reading about your peaceful place. I am trying to buy some land to leave my children so they can do something with it. It is very peaceful but also has dangers of wild animals. But its dangerous everywhere. My Aunt lives on an old farm and we found blue shoe polish bottles that came out of the ground after it rained. I bet you could find some pricey antiques if anyone buried "trash" there.

No, I'm afraid that anything historic might come with ghosts and I wouldn't like that. I'm not really afraid of ghosts I don't think but since I've never seen one I'm just not sure.

It would depend on where the historic site was and how much needed to be done to it to make it livable.
