Ok, boys and girls of the seventies, let's see if you remember! For me the 'Disco Years' started in 1971, co - incidentally the day and year we went 'decimal' on the 15th February!
It didn't seem that special at the time, in fact, it started very quietly with a lot of reggae adored by the 'skinheads'!
Dave and Ansell Collins, Judge Dread, Elizabethan Reggae Etc.
Then something happened, i think 'Tyrranosaurus Rex', later to become 'T.Rex' headed by Marc Bolan started things off with 'Deborah', Ride A White Swan and 'Metal Guru'.
Slade invited us to 'Cum On Feel The Noize' and said 'Gudbuy T' Jane' before that immortal classic 'Merry Christmas Everyone'.
The girls used to faint over Donny Osmond and 'Puppy Love' also Dr.Hook And His Medicine Show with 'Sylvias Mother'.
The tartan clad Bay City Rollers kept the girls happy whilst the lads did the 'Flying Angel' to Status Quo!
Of course, no one at the time knew about Gary Glitter's ways so he was very much 'hero worshipped', to become rightly vilified later!
Remember Barry Blue, 'Dancing on a Saturday Night'?
Showaddywaddy and, of course, Elton John, The Bee Gees and Leo Sayer!
1. The worst fashion disaster you wore 2. The best tv program 3. Which pictures you had on your wall - bands/actors etc 4. Your least favourite subject 5. Your favourite subject 6. Age of your first kiss 7. What the coolest thing to do on a Saturday night was
I was still quite youmg in the 70s but I do remember some of the goods ones like Slade, Wizard, Queen, Boney M. We were all fans the the Osmands and Bay City Rollers. Even had the tarten clothes to go with them. Sad hey. We all used to do Tiger feet as well. Thursdays were the highlight of the week because we were allowed to watch Top of the Pops.
I was a teenager in the 70's so I supose it was 'my' era. I remember Marc Bolan and T-Rex, Slade, Showaddywaddy, The Rubettes, Abba, Joe Cocker, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Boney M, Donna Summer, Sweet, Alvin Stardust...I could go on for ever!
Sorry Kerry but it took two of you to make this baby so surley you and your husband should decide the name. I dont mean to sound hard but a lot of couples out there would give anything to be having a baby withought arguing over who is going to name it. I hope you have a healthy happy baby and that is more important
There's quite trend now towards guys wearing makeup - not just the way out Goth stuff but every day complexion enhancers, eyeliners, spot concealers and the like. It's apparently quite a growing market. I tend to stare (despite myself) and be shocked when I notice a cosmetically enhanced male but why should I? In past times men whitened their faces and wore curly wigs so what's new? Rationally speaking, why shouldn't men do the same as women if it helps them improve their self confidence or for whatever reason it turns them on? But I am sure there will be contrary opinions out there - especially from the macho brigade? :o)
Having just logged in this morning I was surprised to see the new Toluna blog entry on netiquette basically asking that we refrain from posting topics etc entirely in capitals. I for one agree with it but do understand that some people prefer to type in capitals as they see it better. As for Toluna now advising that any topics put into the wrong categories or written entirely in said capitals are subject to deletion that is a bit harsh. They also say that any topics written in another language are subject to deletion, well may be, that is a bit harsh too. We do have members from all the sites logging into our English one and adding opinions to our topics in their own language and if actually you translate some of them, they can be quite good.. Well I do say some of them ;-) Have you read this netiquette blog entry and do you agree with it? I suppose in a way it is confirmation that Toluna is actually taking note of what is happening on this small part of the site.
personally i like the smell of freshly baked food, cookies, cakes, bread. Really like the smell of coffee, fresh grass, fruits (especially oranges!) and mint too. I know it is a bit strange but i like the smell of freshly ironed clothes too haha.
as for scents and perfume, i like the smell of vanilla or peach-y scents. i like most products in the body shop.. watermelon lip balms, brazil nut lotions, peach shower gels.... perfumes wise, i really love CK perfumes, Light Blue from D&G and Miss Dior Cherie!
I love the smell of new carpets, yes strange I know. I also love the smell of freshly washed clothes & bedding. As for perfume, I am addicted to wearing perfume, I wear it everyday, I have so many favourites, I love Beautiful by Estee Lauder, Chloe, Daisy by Marc Jacobs, Chance by Chanel, the list is endless.
